The serious shortage protocol for Utrogestan 100mg capsules has been extended until September 29.
News of the Department of Health and Social Care’s decision to extend the SSP, which was due to expire today, was published by Community Pharmacy England. The SSP was put in place because of what the DHSC described as “a significant ongoing disruption” to the drug’s supply.
Under the SSP, pharmacists can supply patients with no more than two months’ supply of the capsules.
Meanwhile, CPE has informed contractors that payments for prescriptions for Atomoxetine 18mg capsules sent to the NHS Business Services Authority for August will be reimbursed at the adjusted price of £29.94 for a pack of 28.
A price concession of £26.35 was published by the DHSC in its list of concessions on August 30 before the reimbursement price was increased.
“Pharmacy owners should note that the published Drug Tariff September 2023 reflects the updated price of Atomoxetine 18mg capsules,” CPE said.
